Onsen Katazome Ramie Noren - Japanese Doorway Curtain

$169.00

A handmade full-length noren inspired by the quiet ritual of a Japanese bathhouse.

Part of our Moment Series, this design features rippling water beneath a bath ladle, a steaming wooden soaking tub, and a small bathing stool. The motifs are arranged vertically across two panels in a simple woodblock-inspired composition, bringing a calm sense of warmth, water, and everyday ritual into the space.

The motifs are created using a traditional katazome paste-resist process. The surrounding fabric is plant-dyed in the selected color, while the protected designs retain the lighter natural tone and texture of the ramie.

Made from Handwoven Natural Ramie No.75, the fabric has a visible woven structure and a dry, lightly rustic texture. It is breathable, semi-sheer, and light-filtering, providing gentle visual privacy while allowing air to continue moving between spaces. Although lightweight, the ramie has a naturally structured body rather than a soft, floppy drape.

Avoid bleach, chemical detergents, alcohol, and disinfecting sprays.
Gently remove surface dust when needed.

Keep away from open flame and high heat.

Please Note

Each curtain is handmade from handwoven No.75 ramie and finished through a plant-dye and paste-resist process. Variations in dye depth, motif edges, weave, texture, natural side edges, and panel alignment are expected and should not be considered defects.

The ramie is woven on a traditional narrow loom. Slight waviness, woven slubs, irregular threads, and subtle differences in width or thickness are natural characteristics of authentic handwoven fabric.

Each piece is individually made and one of a kind.
